The St. James chapter of United Methodist Women meet on the third Thursday of every month (September through June) at 1:00 pm, or at noon for luncheon meetings. UMW is open to all women, and you are welcome to become a part of this fine group of women.

Our UMW group regularly raises money to support ministries both within the church, and also in our community and the world at large. One special local ministry is the provision of socks, sneakers, and boots for children at Hyde Park Elementary School who can't afford decent footware.

Special fundraisers during 2011 include a homemade candy sale from March 20th through April 17th, a rummage sale/lunch on May 14th, and a Mini-Bazaar/Lunch on October 22nd.

The UMW group also sponsors our church quilt ministry. Our Sew and Sows meet every Thursday to make prayer and cuddle quilts. Read more about this wonderful ministry and see pictures of all our quilts on our Sew and Sows page.
